We wanted to take the opportunity to introduce our wonderful staff and share some little known facts about us. Dr. Greg Villeneuve, one of our beloved clinic owners, insisted on sharing 5 fun facts about him instead of 4.
1. What inspired you to pursue dentistry?
I’ve been practicing dentistry for 13 years now! My childhood friend’s dad was a dentist, and he was the first inspiration for my future career. I saw that enjoyed his work and was able to set his own hours, run a business, and be available for his family. As I grew older, I became invested in helping people in need. I enjoy offering an amazing service that you just can’t do yourself.
2. What is your favourite thing about your job?
I take a lot of pride in what Vivo stands for. We put our patients first and do what’s right no matter what it takes. We’ve created deep values that inspire us to treat everyone the way we want to be treated and go the extra mile. It makes Vivo such an enjoyable place to work.
3. What is a little known fact about you?
I placed second in a nationwide Wikipedia photography contest a few years ago! The contest was to take a photo of a known place or structure of significance in Canada, so I submitted a photo I took of the Bank Street Bridge in Ottawa. I love photography (and think I’m pretty good at it) so that was cool!
4. If you could build a house anywhere, where would it be?
Along the ocean in BC in some remote area. Somewhere I could smell the sea all the time and soak up nature. However, I draw the line at living off the grid– I like running water and electricity, thank you.
5. What hobby would you like to grow?
I enjoy playing the guitar, especially alternative/metal (I often imagine how good I would be if I just had more time, sigh). Even though I’m pretty sure I don’t have an ear for music, and I certainly can’t sing, I have a dream of shredding some guitar, or even playing an open mic night. First, more practice.
